Aquaponics and Hydroponics

Aquaponics is the integration of aquaculture (growing fish) and hydroponics (growing plants in water) to produce the ultimate food production system that is healthy, sustainable and affordable.  The nutrients from fish excrement is filtered out and fed to the plants.  The plants clean the water that the fish live in.   An aquaponic system uses 95 percent less water and plants grow three to five times faster than traditional gardening.

I would prefer to experiment with a mini system before I big a family size model.
