http://www.malkimuseum.org/gathering.htm:
The Malki Museum sponsors three main events each year which are designed to be traditional and educational.
The Malki Fall Gathering is taking place October 18th at 10am.
At our annual Fall Gathering, there are demonstrations, lectures, and of course, food tasting! This event is held usually in late October, and features Native arts, crafts, and games, as well as Cahuilla harvest foods such as wewish (acorn mush), a time-consuming but staple dish. The demonstrations often include Cahuilla bird singing, basket weaving, acorn leaching and grinding, pottery making, and flint-knapping.
